What is a True "Micronova"?

Identified by ESO's VLT and NASA's TESS in 2022, micronovae are localized surface thermonuclear detonations on accreting white dwarfs in binary systems (~10³⁹ ergs). Our isolated G-type Sun cannot produce a thermonuclear micronova, but it produces violent magnetic superflares and extreme proton storms.
